Dr. Emmett Evanoff joined Earth Sciences as an Assistant Professor in the fall of 2007, having served as a part-time and full-time faculty member at UNC on and off since 1993. Prior to that teaching experience, Dr. Evanoff has had extensive experience in geological consulting and teaching since 1980 while based at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

An expert in Tertiary and Quaternary stratigraphy and paleontology of the high plains and intermountain west, Emmett also has had a number of research grants and contracts through the National Park Service and several in association with natural history museums. Field work continues on a variety of intriguing studies in the Badlands, the Bridger Basin, and other sites in Colorado, the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains.
