The purpose of this course is to help you become familiar with the fundamental energy concepts and with common problems and solutions of energy production and use. Various types of energy and energy production will be discussed along with the appropriate laws of physics and examples in a real world, for example, energy use patterns in the U.S. compared with in a developing country, such as China. Environmental issues related to energy use will also be discussed. Some practical arithmetic calculations will be introduced for problem solving.
