Earth Science: Global Change (ESCI 605)

This course will introduce students to the science of global change through analysis of

current data available on line and articles from the popular media and scientific

journals. The focus of this course is on learning about the Earth as a system, and

understanding and quantifying the interactions that occur between the various components

of the system: the atmosphere, the hydrosphere, the biosphere, and the land surface.

Students will participate in on line discussion of articles and assignments, and complete

a term project directed toward developing learning activities for classroom use.
